This was my first time at this restaurant and I chose it simply because they serve liver and onions. My mother and I went she had the liver and onion lunch sized portion and I tried the honey mustard grilled chicken melt with their crispy fries and clam chowder. The chowder was full of clam, potatoes, onion and carrots. The vegetables were cut quite small so you got some in every bite. The broth was the perfect consistency and very flavorful. The melt had shredded cheese, grilled chicken, honey mustard on toasted bread. I had their sourdough but you can choose from a variety of bread options. We chose to get dessert to go, I had the coconut cream pie and it was perfect. Mom choose banana pudding, they brought it out in a jar and I expected them to take it out of the jar and put it in a to-go container but nope they covered the jar with plastic wrap and put it in our to go bag. Food was phenomenal and service was beyond great. Everyone was very friendly, greeted with smiles and takes the time to answer any questions without attitude. It felt like eating lunch at a friend's house. I can't wait to go again.
There were super busy..so if you don't have time... I don't think it's a good idea...also the portions are more than enough for one person. Food is truly yummy... DELICIOUS and the quality of the food is worth the money...waiter was polite and nice but I wish there were smiling more often but I understand them, busy. Definitely will come again 🙌😊🧡

Let just first say they do grits RIGHT! They were so smooth and NOT gritty. The meat lover omelette was top notch and the ice tea has true flavor; not watered down. I had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and stewed tomatoes. I really liked the crispy fried steak covered in gravy. The highlight for me was the stewed tomatoes. It took me back to my childhood when my mother served a similar dish that she called breaded tomatoes. My wife had a reuben; she said, it was great. We got there just after noon on Sunday and beat the lunch rush. There were people waiting in line as we left.
The food was excellent and prices were very reasonable. The greens beans were cooked to perfection and the homemade mashed potatoes had so much butter, they were yellow! So good. It was a block off Highway 71, east of Cincinnati, Ohio, so very convenientfor travelerslike us.

Arrived and was sat immediately! Cute diner feel but comfortable. Outdoor seating as well. Counter dining for travelers like Mel’s Diner! Right beside the Truck Stop and the interstate. Great lil local place to support and have amazing comfort food. Burgers-soups-entrees-desserts and more! Breakfast served all day. Our server was great! Catered to the kids and they gave the Chicken Tenders an 11 out of 10 stars! We had the Chicken Dumplings-with mashed and toast. Zesty pickle fries as an appetizer. Tasty! Great sweet tea! We saw cool cars in the parking lot and campers. Affordable and clean! Convenient for the weary travelers and visiting the area! Large portions!
Delicious food right off the highway. Big plate of chicken tenders with some of the best fries and the breakfast with bacon and biscuits yum. Just would recommend apple butter or jam. Sausage gravy was the only thing we didn't like. Ordered cheese curds and waitress brought out Carmel sauce and said to try it and we would thank her later. It was so good. Next time we will order it as a dessert.
This is one of those Old Town movie liked place to come go and eat some really good food. Clam chowder taste the steak was all right with coffee to spare it has a nice cool little open kind of bar to eat the ambiance is a must to come and visit cool thing is if your truck driver is one of the best places because it's next to a pilot do the walk on foot from the parking lot to this place highly recommended.
